My new antenna arrived and it's a beauty!. It's made by my friend Ron at Scorpion Antennas.
I decided to go with the "stealth" version as it blends in well with the black hard top and also protects the coil from UV rays.
This antenna will pull double duty as my amateur radio and CB antenna for use during trail rides. I also purchased a Comet tri-band antenna for VHF/UHF duties. I want a 6-meter antenna also, but haven't figured that one out yet.
So how do I mount this beast?! I'm working with Gerald at Savvy Offroad to build a custom mount that will weld to a section of corner armor. This will give me support across the entire quarter panel. If Savvy can't help me, I've also been on the phone with Eric at Rokmen in Colorado.
The pictures show the approximate location which should help protect it....

The other day Jackie calls and says she wants to drive down to the beach. I said, "How about I take the top off the Jeep and we'll go topless!" She agreed! We had a fun time although my topless days are numbered as all that wind and noise wasn't as fun as I remember it when I was young.
The next day my son asks if he can meet up with some friends and could he take the Jeep. It appears he really likes the Jeep with the top off...
