The Socal4x4Geocachers account received a few TFTC logs recently. It happens all the time Evil, but some action was taken this time I assume it was our resident goodwill ambassador that deleted the find logs. LOL

As the diplomatic ambassador, I sent off this reply-
Quote:
The group that comprises the Socal4x4Geocachers is made up of folks dedicated to placing geocaches in unique and enjoyable locations to share with others. We spend some considerable time and money placing quality caches (not a 35mm under a lamp post).

If a geocacher finds our cache and just writes a single word log, especially an acronym, they basically just insulted us and our hide. We spent the time to hide (what we believe to be a quality cache) and you as a finder couldn't spend at least a few seconds writing a couple nice words?

One word logs like TFTC and TNLN, etc are a huge pet peeve of ours and of many other geocachers. Please don't fall into the trap of writing logs like that continually. Even a simple "Enjoyed the cache, thanks!" is a huge improvement over a basic 1 word log and requires little extra effort.

The point is, we put in the effort hiding a nice cache which we hope you enjoyed. Please don't cheapen the experience with one word acronyms in your log. Thanks!

Probably more then was needed, but I find some longer explanations like that get a better response.

For a while I tried the diplomatic approach and got tired of deaf ears.

Now if I see acronym only logs I delete them Mr. Green

You certainly don't need me to offer up support but here it is...

I, too, can't stand those short, ridiculously empty logs (though I've never deleted any). And I FULLY SUPPORT the deletion of such logs for all the SoCal4x4Geocacher caches (many of which I FTF'd).

The problem with TFTC is you don't know if they also SL'd.

At this point I'd be happy with getting a TFTC log.

I had a fantastic day with my new Jeep! 150 miles and two caches, but they were excellent! Ammo cans full of swag is the way to go! I wish this road was open all the way through but I don't ever see that happening. Wow what a day!!!

Yea...I was messing with you! I posted the first log (which gets e-mailed) and then edited it right away to show my enthusiasm for the excellent caches! Twisted

I don't really care if they leave TFTC. Hell, it's a free world, let them log how they like.

I learned from Dino that if you post a log on gc.com in html NOTHING comes up.
ie: <FU> comes up blank.
A favorite of mine back when I used to actually log caches...
