| Looks like another snow run is coming together for this Sunday, Jan 24. A few people are interested in going right now. Anybody from here want to go? Weather looks to be clear this coming weekend and about 1-2ft of snow is expected to fall this week, so it should be great conditions. |

Lots of fresh snow on the ground today. Should be fun times up on the hill this weekend! |

Highway 38 is expected to remain closed through the weekend to everyone except people who live in Angelus Oaks and Forest Falls.
There are 20-foot snow drifts and three feet of hard packed snow on the highway, which means motorists are driving above the guardrail.
Residents of Angelus Oaks and Forest Falls are being allowed through after showing officials proof of residency.
A CalTrans crew tried to drive on Highway 38 this morning and it took them two hours to drive eight miles, said spokeswoman Terri Kasinga. The crew eventually gave up. |

| Since all roads to Big Bear are closed except to residents, we are hitting up Pilot Rock and Cleghorn instead. 8:30am meeting at the McDonalds off Hwy 138/I-15. |

| Yeah, but they are on my camera at home. It was a decent run, but not as much snow as I hoped for. We would have been better off going up Rattlesnake or 3N14. We did run into several large rock slides, downed trees and washouts. Made for an interesting day. I'll post a report once I get the pics up. |
